About Us

The Costa Rican Chair Company is the enterprise of George and Lew-Ann Cooley. George has been in the sales of hardware and modular homes for 25 years. Lew-Ann was a former teacher in Costa Rica. We are a web-based retailer whose office and warehouse are both located in Ogunquit Maine.

Traveling extensively to Costa Rica, George and Lew-Ann have meet with a number of manufacturers to be certain that our chairs will please even the most discriminating buyer. Our chairs are made in the central valley of Costa Rica near San Jose. Being a small factory of a dozen employees gives us the ability to build a superior product compared to the mass-manufacturing plants that many of our competitors use.

Our chairs are crafted from finest weather resistant materials. Our Teak is plantation grown and the Spanish Cedar is permitted by the Costa Rican government before being cut. Both woods are kiln dried at the factory before going into production. Kiln drying reduces the moisture content in the wood giving it a greater resistance to the elements.

Each chair comes in six pieces boxed at the factory along with stainless steel bolts for assembly. Using stainless hardware is crucial in the production of outdoor furniture. It ensures against rust and discoloration.

At this time, we offer two chairs but intend to expand the product line.

We invite you to contact us if you have any questions.
